I am Afreak Productions stands for audio- visual activism, presenting Africa and its Diaspora from a feminilicious, afrocentric, authentic, humouristic perspective.

 

We participate in the representation of Africa and its Diaspora- shake up the vessel of concepts, notions, beliefs, ideas- refresh and (re-)create the imaginary that permeates Africa and its Diaspora.

 

Our aim is not to structure, define or declare epic truths, but to challenge, discuss, empower, play, bring laughter or tears, engage with fears, question- and essentially use images and sound to engage in a more facetted and dynamic depiction of a continent, its people, cultures, nature, experiences and ideas.

 

With a whiff of fresh air and by taking on the challenge to the interplay of images, thoughts, perceptions, experiences and creative depiction of Africa, we will be able to destroy the destortion of African realities made by the outstander, and instead  painting  the African picture from an inside point of view and in new colours.
